Choosing is losing, the saying goes. Though here it's more receiving than choosing.

I'm so glad the scan went well.

Your feelings are exactly why I didn't find out the sex. I knew that if I was told it was a girl, I'd be sad that I wasn't having a boy and vice versa. Would it be nice to be a regular fertile and just assume that we could have another one?

Liz

Wonderful news...so glad things are going well.

awww, a daughter!
How awesome!
I too always wanted a daughter, and when ours was stillborn, I was devastated. BUT, almost 5 years later, we finally had our (living) daughter to hold. She's now 2, and a delight as well as a challenge!!

Hi Thalia. Thanks for the comment on the new blog. I really enjoy your blog, though I have been too shy to ever comment. I am very happy to hear that things are going so well!

millie

Yay. Just yay.

I'm thinking Liana will have some fabulous girl things to pass on to you. So excited for you.

Alli

Congrats, Thalia. So happy for you.

I never commented on this, and wanted also to add that girls can look just like their fathers - a friend's daughter, when new and bald, looked SO much like her (hair-impaired) father it was embarassing! Now the resemblance is a bit less striking but still there.

I rarely comment on commenters, but am I alone in thinking that the sex selection comment was inappropriate? Perhaps because it's illegal here (at least with PGD)? But also because it seems not in keeping with the tone of the post, or indeed Thalia's whole blog. Probably now I will get bombarded. But I've been bottling that one up. Sorry.
